Job Description
PURPOSE
The Events Services Assistant will assume administrative responsibilities to support the Event Services team with event planning and management.
DESCRIPTION
Performs a wide variety of administrative and staff support services related to external, internal and signature events.
Conducts initial review of requests for proposals and internal event notifications.
Tracks event requests and maintains and organizes event management folders.
Communicates with clients and other stakeholders.
Coordinates and collaborated with vendors, facilities personnel (both University and external) and others.
Administers post event reconciliation process in preparation for invoicing.
Assists with coordinating events within established guidelines.
Provides event staffing support, including setup and takedown.
Attends events, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree.
Additional experience may be considered as a substitute for the minimum education requirement : High School Diploma / GED and four (4) years of related experience OR Associate's degree and two (2) years of related experience.
Customer service oriented and have a professional demeanor.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Meticulous with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Able to working in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher).
Knowledge of basic accounting skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Four (4) years of related experience in hospitality, communications, and event planning.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite skills, specifically InDesign and Illustrator a plus.
SALARY : $32,000 - $40,000 / annually.
$15.38 - $19.23 / hourly.
Salary is dependent upon education and / or experience.
