Job Overview
The Senior, Project Management is a technically proficient and Agile-savvy professional responsible for overseeing development projects.
Their main objective is to plan, execute, and deliver projects effectively. They work within a team-oriented, technical organization and are skilled communicators, collaborating closely with producers, developers, operations, QA, and project / program and domain management to ensure successful project outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Take ownership of complex projects or multiple projects, overseeing all project-related activities to ensure execution and final delivery of project products.
- Create the roadmap for the project, manage the plan, make changes as necessary, and effectively communicate status and issues to the team, the PMO, and Domain management.
- Efficiently remove blockers and escalate issues and risks with an appropriate sense of urgency.
- Use existing standards and processes throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Drive the change management processes.
- Facilitate planning, communication, negotiation, and self-management within the team.
- Act as Iteration Manager, managing and administrating the iteration lifecycle, backlog, and story cards in VersionOne.
- Ensure completion of project audit controls and closeout activities.
- Onboard and coach other project managers in processes, issue resolution, and audit controls.
- Actively learn and explore areas and skills that will help Macy’s continue to grow and innovate.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and communicate lessons learned to appropriate groups.
Skills You Will Need
Project Management Expertise : Extensive experience managing enterprise-level software development projects, particularly in the realm of ecommerce, from initiation through completion.
Agile Methodologies : Proven track record of managing software development efforts using Agile methodologies such as Scrum, XP, or lean, with at least 4 years of hands-on experience in Agile project management.
Software Development Lifecycle Knowledge : Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle, QA and test methodologies, and processes, including experience with various products through all phases of development.
Technical Acumen : Technical experience in retail / ecommerce is highly advantageous, demonstrating a strong grasp of technical concepts and requirements in the relevant industry.
Certifications : While not mandatory, PMI or CSM certification is beneficial, showcasing a commitment to professional development and adherence to industry standards.
Communication Skills : Practice open and continuous communication, adept at keeping stakeholders informed and presenting information clearly and concisely.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills : Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills are crucial, enabling effective collaboration across functional lines and at various organizational levels.
Creative and Strategic Thinking : Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically, contributing to innovative solutions and driving project success.

- 6+ years managing enterprise-level software development projects from initiation through completion, ideally ecommerce initiatives.
4+ years of experience managing software development projects using Agile.
Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands / fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms.
Requires close vision.
Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
