We have a full-time position available for a Co-Occurring Counselor for our clinic in West Des Moines, Iowa.We offer acompetitive hourly wage and benefits package.

Job Summary : Co-Occurring Counselors assist patients in achieving goals through counseling services. Provides personalized approach to substance use and mental health treatment, and recovery to patients.

As part of UCS Healthcare, team members will follow all laws and regulations, including those at the Federal, State, and Local level.

They will also adhere to all UCS policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality, HIPAA / 42CFR part 2, and all CARF requirements.

All team members will operate in alignment with UCS Healthcare's core values, work effectively in a team environment, provide or support patient-centered services, and strive to assist UCS Healthcare in delivering the highest level of care.

Reports To : Clinical SupervisorEssential Functions : (65%)Assesses clients referred for substance abuse and mental health evaluations and makes appropriate treatment recommendations.

Provides individual and group counseling to patients.Maintain a client caseload in accordance with assigned duties. With each case, the counselor will provide for detailed records which reflects a comprehensive treatment plan, treatment progress, aftercare, referral, and patient management as set forth by UCS Healthcare policies and State Licensure Requirements.

Other Function s : (35%)Performs case management functions such as maintaining case records and coordinating additional services as necessary.

Participate in quality assurance meetings and counselor staffing's.Maintain credential to supervise licensed interns that are working at the agency and assigned for your supervision of the intern.

Attend approved conferences and meetings to secure and maintain credentials.Apprise supervisor of problems encountered in case loadsMonitor and provide coverage for agency crisis line.

Additional duties as assigned.Implement any curriculums identified as appropriate by management.Interpret referral paperwork to determine appropriate level of care.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience : Master's Degree insocial work, mental health or related field.Licensed in Iowa as an independent clinician (LMFT, LMSW, or LISW) or be working on independent licensing within one year of hire.

At minimum, must have a temporary license (tLMHC, LMHC, tLMFT).Certified or working towards CADC certification within one year of hire.

Experienced in both the disease of addiction and mental health diagnosis and treatmentPreferred Education, Skills, and Experience : Licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT), Licensed master social worker(LMSW), or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)CurrentCertified Alcohol and Drug Counselor(CADC) with Iowa Board of CertificationExperience with group facilitation, understanding of substance use disorders and comprehension of counseling theories.

Physical Requirements : A valid driver's license is required (an Iowa driver's license is required within 30 days of hire) and liability insurance or an equivalent means of personal transportation and coverage as travel within the state of Iowa may be necessary.

Communicating with others to exchange informationWork Schedule : Full-time 40 Hours a week. Depending on the program assigned to working hours can vary from 6 : 00 a.

m. to 9 : 00 p.m. including Saturdays. Work may be assigned at any of the agency office locations (West Des Moines, Ankeny, and Knoxville).
