Civil Engineer / Project Manager

Job Summary : Huitt-Zollars' Rio Rancho, NM office has an excellent full-time career opportunity for a Licensed PE in New Mexico as a Project Manager for Public Works / Transportation with a Bachelor Degree in engineering.

This opportunity is for an experienced roadway / transportation Project Manager with 5 -10 years of experience, including utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Location : Rio Rancho, NM

Employment type : 40 hrs / Full-time

Registration(s) : Professional Engineer

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Work collaboratively in a team environment providing leadership and Project Management (PM) duties for public works / roadway infrastructure.
  • Will support projects focusing on public works / transportation projects, with a focus on agency coordination and project development.

Qualifications :

  • The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must be a licensed PE in New Mexico with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with producing accurate and complete construction plans and reports.
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment and to manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to work directly with clients and directing a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, communicating engineering information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to train staff and review work for quality assurance.
  • Solid leadership and management skills, self-motivated, and possess a strong ability to meet deadlines, satisfy clients, and solve complex problems.

Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, type / key-in data
  • May lift and carry up to 50 pounds, hike up and down steep slopes carrying up to 50 pounds of survey equipment.
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Employee may be asked to walk on uneven terrain.
  • May work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Bend, squat, dig monument holes, pound in stakes and rebar monuments.
  • Carry and use brush cutting equipment
