Description

Shift : Monday-Friday (7a-3p) or Monday-Friday (3p-11p)

The Custodian will ensure the buildings are tidy, clean and well-maintained. The custodian will sweep, mop and vacuum floors, and dust surfaces.

You will clean walls, ceilings, windows and other surfaces. You will prevent and eliminate indoor pests.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Mops restrooms, film processing room, diners, platemaking room, hallways, press floors, and all vinyl and concrete floors.
  • Dusts conference rooms and offices.
  • Vacuums and / or shampoos carpet in areas such as the conference rooms, entryways, office floors and offices.
  • Empties trash and replaces liners in restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and acts as a backup for warehouse employees in Press Department.
  • Cleans walls in entryways, reception areas, restrooms, and diners.
  • Polishes windows and glass doors.
  • Disinfects telephones, handrails, and all doorknobs.
  • Restocks dispensers in restrooms and diners.
  • Properly disposes of recyclable and non-recyclable trash and waste.
  • Cleans sinks, toilets, and drains in restrooms.
  • Ensures custodial supplies are either in stock or have been ordered.
  • Strips, waxes, and buffs floors as necessary.
  • Lifts 50-pound trash cans, 15-pound chairs, and 25-pound mop buckets daily.
  • Cleans parking lot and grounds as needed.
  • Cleans out diner refrigerator weekly.
  • Ensures snow is removed from walkways and the parking lot by cleaning sidewalks and spreading salt.
  • Assists the Shipping Department in packing and shipping orders if primary duties are complete.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Available to work every 3rd weekend of the month
  • Basic literacy and math skills. Must be able to read and understand hazard communication standards.
  • Good verbal and written skills

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

Regular exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc.

  • Incumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push / pull, bend, stoop, twisting and use manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time.
  • Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision.
  • Incumbent regularly required to carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
