We’re actively seeking a talented Data Platforms Manager to join our PL Data Team in Newport Beach, CA (preferred), Omaha, NE or Lynchburg, VA.
This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Data Platforms Manager, you’ll move Pacific Life and your career forward by leading and maturing our enterprise shared services for Snowflake and dbt.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the overall roadmap of our Snowflake data platform and dbt application, managing daily operational activities, and overseeing outsourced vendor teams.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex data platforms.
How you’ll help move us forward :
- Manage and Mature Enterprise Shared Services : Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our shared services for Snowflake and dbt, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business.
- Drive Platform Roadmap : Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the Snowflake data platform and dbt application, aligning with business objectives and technological advancements.
- Operational Management : Lead day-to-day operational activities, ensuring the platform's reliability, performance, and scalability.
Manage relationships and performance of outsourced vendor teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Technology Deployment : Oversee the rationalization and deployment of new technology capabilities, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with existing systems and processes.
- Process Standardization : Standardize processes and best practices to enhance efficiency and accelerate platform consumption across the organization.
- Capability Enhancement : Continuously enhance and deliver new capabilities while strategically managing and decreasing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) over time.
The experience you bring :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years experience in managing data platforms, specifically with Snowflake and dbt.
- Strong technical expertise in data management, data warehousing, and data integration.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic roadmaps for data platforms.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience managing outsourced vendor teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Familiarity with other data management and analytics tools and platforms.

Base Pay Range :
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting.
The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$131,040.00 - $160,160.00
