Position Summary

This position works under minimal supervision and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects from commencement to completion.

Accountable for developing and building strong teams for each project while delivering quality output, meeting customer expectations, managing to scope, delivering on time, and delivering within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The AV PM will recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline and discharge, if necessary, all project related staff.

Effectively manage all human resource issues (and escalate as needed) per Company policies and procedures. Complete recommendations for project related employees performance ratings, promotions and pay changes.

Provide guidance and mentoring to meet all customer and Company goals and objectives

The AV PM will manage the workload distribution and monitor the customer delivery and job installation progress.

The AV PM will plan for, manage, monitor and maintain project profitability to achieve Company goals.

The AV PM will manage all related quality and safety issues on customer work.

The AV PM acts as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).

The AV PM is responsible for effective communication with sales, the client and installation teams & management. Conduct regular team meetings.

The AV PM will review and monitor operational processes for accuracy, completeness, and efficiency, including but not limited to estimating, purchasing, warehousing, scheduling and reporting.

The AV PM will develop, redesign and implement process improvements as required to bring processes up to effective levels.

The AV PM will work in concert with the Engineering Department, monitor all quality and safety issues related to the operations department.

Actively promote safety as our first priority.

The AV PM will complete other responsibilities as assigned.

The AV PM must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and convey an appropriate professional image.

The AV PM must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.

The AV PM must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).

The AV PM must also have excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop job processes and best practices.

The AV PM must have high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.

The AV PM must be able to travel within the branch territory and / or regional territory as needed.

The AV PM must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.

Education and Experience

  • BSEE or Construction Management preferred, high school diploma required.
  • 5+ years of extensive experience / knowledge of trade-specific contracting, constructing design, finance and management.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong project management skills including documentation, cost control, procurement, scheduling, change order pricing, negotiating skills.
  • Superior communication and intrapersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects. Field experience coordination with construction management.
  • Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
  • Field experience effectively coordinating with construction management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures and a true believer in safety.
  • Current and valid drivers license and clean driving record.

The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, recognize small details, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Hearing with or without hearing aids. The employee must be able to regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 35 pounds.

The employee may be required to climb stairs. Must have full range of motion and dexterity. Other general office duties such as copying, and phone usage are performed regularly.
