We seek a positive, energetic DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES to oversee and execute all aspects of our HR function. The Director of HR originates and leads HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards;

goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Duties and responsibilities of the Director of HR include :

  • Actively participate as a strategic leader and member of the OSS leadership team with input, oversight, and accountability for the employee relations functions.
  • Maintain an effective HR department and structure to ensure legal and fair treatment of all staff members, balancing the needs of the business and the employees including legal compliance and record-keeping.
  • Oversee all aspects of full-cycle recruiting, including developing job descriptions and postings, background screening, drug testing, and onboarding of new hires.
  • Advise managers / supervisors at all levels on employee relations matters, including performance management, staff motivation, corrective action, and other similar matters, providing excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with Operations team on upskilling and training employees to achieve higher performance and skillsets.
  • Lead the company’s health and welfare group benefits, process and ensure proper records, work with management to improve the benefits package on an ongoing basis, and assist payroll with compensation and benefits information.
  • Handle worker's compensation questions and claims, as necessary.
  • Provide guidance on the creation and implementation of HR processes and policies.
  • Assist with Companywide communication and lead the team executing company-wide and regional company events.
  • Promote and educate a safe working culture.
  • Ensure the company complies and mandates reporting requirements, including those related to EEO, ADA, ERISA, and the Department of Labor.

Minimum qualifications for the position include :

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in human resources as a generalist with increasing levels of responsibility in all or most areas of HR including recruiting, compensation benchmarking, employee relations, compliance, worker’s compensation, performance management, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (HR, business, etc.), or comparable work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills building great rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be an energetic, solutions-oriented person with sound operational / tactical HR skills, great critical thinking skills, a proactive approach, and good judgment.
  • Work consistently in an ethical manner and maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, plus SHRM-CP and / or PHR credentials very strongly preferred.
  • Past experience in the service industry is helpful, although not required.
