SUMMARY OF ROLE

An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Inventory Control Assessment : Oversees daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and audits; Ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to fulfillment center processes and standards;
  • Socializes reasons for defects at fulfillment center level (for example, top reasons for defects by area, department, or associate) with Fulfillment Center Operations Managers every week to discuss adjustment information and cycle count information;

Presents recommendations to fulfillment center senior management to inform and update on operational objectives.

Quality Assurance Assessment : Consolidates top reasons for quality issues at a fulfillment center; Socializes reports and quality control updates with Fulfillment Center Operations Managers to determine resolution process;

Reviews results of supplier performance reviews and suggests improvements; Develops suggestions for audit cycle improvements.

  • Problem-Solving / Remediation : Reviews performance trends and patterns; Escalates issues that cannot be immediately resolved;
  • Develops complex remedial plans based on root cause drivers to mitigate causes of defects and determine the best approach to manage inventory flow and quality;

Determines appropriate course of action for inventory and quality control remedial plans through assigning work and raising tickets to the appropriate resources (via an understanding of all departments' roles and responsibilities).

Process Improvement : Understands and considers how Lean methodologies and tools can be applied to inbound and outbound processes in a fulfillment center;

Assists in developing operational policies and procedures and following up to ensure acceptable inventory control and quality assurance standards are met to achieve operational excellence.

Collaboration : Collaborates with Fulfillment Center Area and Operations Managers to ensure optimization and accuracy of inventory;

Identifies and collaborates with internal (for example, Fulfillment Center Operations) and external partners (for example, Fulfillment Center Engineering, Transportation Operations, Supply Chain Management) to understand root cause drivers and trends (for example, suppliers, manufacturers) and recommend and implement improvement solutions.

People Development : Builds and leads a team to execute business area objectives; Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge, and work performance.

Conducts performance and career development conversations. Maintains team motivation and engagement. Mentors ICQA Supervisors, Team Leads, and team members.

Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing, and supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.

YOU MUST HAVE : Knowledge :

Knowledge :

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • Broad knowledge of distribution operations.
  • Functional reading, writing, and math.
  • Written and verbal communication / instruction skills.
  • PC literacy.

Experience :

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Inventory Control and Warehouse experience preferred.

Machines, Tools, Equipment (Office and Industrial), Software :

  • Warehouse management system terminal, radio frequency scanner, calculator, copier and telephone, label device, knife.
  • Use of Order Picker for cycle counts performed in a rack.

Physical Requirements :

  • Observes associate, customer, or supplier behavior.
  • Enters and locates information on the computer.
  • Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 15 pounds without assistance. Moves up and down stairs.
  • Presents information to small or large groups and individuals.
  • Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer.
  • Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Visually locates merchandise and other objects.
  • Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Sit for extended periods.
  • Walk within the work area for extended periods.
  • Use crossovers to access opposite sides of conveyors.
  • Communicates effectively in person and by using telecommunications or electronic voice control equipment.
  • Visually verifies and reads information, often in small print.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including, but not limited to, lifting protection, fall protection, eye protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, chemical protection, climate protection, and electrical protection such as protective footwear.
