Summary :
It is the purpose of the Activities Program Director to provide social, recreational, and other purposeful activities to each resident in the Skilled Nursing Facility in order to stimulate the resident's mental and physical capabilities to their fullest extent.
To enable the residents to foster a sense of usefulness, self-respect and dignity in maintaining their quality of life.
Responsibilities : EDUCATION
EDUCATION
- New York State Operators License (without Blemish)
- Completion of two years of college with an Associates' Degree
- Five (5) years' experience leading and directing recreational therapy in a long term care facility will be accepted in lieu of degree
EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years in a Residential Health Care Facility
- Two (2) years of age-appropriate experience within the last five (5) years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good driving and vision skills
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
