George Fox University's Advancement department is seeking a quick learner with outstanding organizational skills who is driven to meet deadlines and create a positive user experience for those using their platform to serve as their Database Administrator.
About the Job :
The Advancement Database Administrator will have a vital role in the day-to-day administration and configuration of the Salesforce database.
Working closely with the University Advancement's Investment and Engagement teams, the Database Administrator will help continually enhance and improve the platform.
They will identify, test, and deploy new business processes and best-practice solutions working in a collaborative environment.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Supporting CRM Analytics and Process Development (40%)
- Salesforce Training (10%)
- Supporting the Grant Pipeline and Tracking (20%)
- Gift Processing and Tracking (30%)
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.

A day in the life of this position :
The activities of the Database Administrator will be focused on three primary areas of responsibility : 1) driving database activities resulting in revenue growth;
and 2) managing foundation post-award processes to achieve annual budget goals; and 3) providing administrative support to Advancement Operations to drive efficiency in process.
A typical day on the job will involve analyzing data trends, troubleshooting database issues, and collaborating with teams to optimize processes.
The Database Administrator's attention to detail and proactive problem-solving approach will be vital, contributing significantly to the organization's operational efficiency and revenue growth.
We're looking for candidates who have :
- An Associate's degree.
- Two or more years of related work experience. *Candidates without technical expertise are welcome to apply.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
Preference will be given to those who have the following attributes :
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working in development and / or advancement.
- Salesforce experience.
- Experience working with PeopleSoft software or another non-profit database.
- Working knowledge of non-profit fundraising.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
