What we need : We are seeking an ambitious and proven Sales Representative who will be pivotal in expanding our reach in the frozen, specialty and value-added foods market.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food brokerage sales, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the food manufacturing and distribution landscape to drive growth and build lasting relationships with customers.

What you'll do : The Sales Representative will be responsible for the sales and growth of the Great Lakes Farm to Freezer and Food for Thought branded portfolios across food service, wholesale distributors and independent operators.

In this role, you will manage and grow these brands within the specified territory and account list in coordination with corresponding broker representatives.

Responsible for attaining sales objectives, including focusing on all key initiatives set by the company.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase product penetration into retail, foodservice, and wholesale markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and brokers, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any concerns or challenges that may arise.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, customer meetings, and broker support visits as needed to promote the products across the branded portfolios.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals to key stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams including marketing, production, and logistics to ensure customer satisfaction and support company growth objectives.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, food industry is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working in food brokerage sales; broker management is a plus.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building client relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong integrity and business ethics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM systems for tracking and managing sales activities.
  • This is a hybrid position that combines on-site office work with field-based travel responsibilities, including meetings with brokers, clients, and industry events.

Compensation and Benefits

We provide a competitive compensation base salary range of $45-50k + commission and opportunity for performance based bonus pay.

Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
