Job Summary :
The Senior Service Technician - Rack Integration is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server racks, including the management of network cables, transceivers, power cords, and liquid cooling systems.
This role requires meticulous attention to detail, technical expertise, and excellent coordination skills to work effectively with internal teams and third-party contractors, ensuring high-quality and timely execution of projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Cable Installation and Management :
Perform installation, routing, and labeling of network cables, transceivers, power cords, and liquid cooling systems within server racks
Ensure proper organization and tidiness of cables to facilitate maintenance and reduce the risk of damage
Rack Configuration and Deployment :
Assemble and install server racks, ensuring proper alignment and secure mounting of hardware
Configure racks according to design specifications and client requirements, ensuring optimal performance and accessibility
System Integration :
Integrate servers, switches, and other hardware components into the rack environment, ensuring seamless connectivity and functionality
Perform initial setup and testing of equipment to verify proper installation and operation
Documentation and Compliance :
Maintain detailed records of installations, including cable routing diagrams, equipment lists, and configuration settings
Ensure all installations comply with company standards, industry best practices, and safety regulations
Troubleshooting and Maintenance :
Identify and resolve issues related to cabling, connectivity, and hardware installations
Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure ongoing reliability and performance of server racks
Collaboration and Coordination :
Work closely with other engineering teams, project managers, and clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations
Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality execution of installation projects
Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal groups and external partners to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to timelines
Continuous Improvement :
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to rack engineering and cable management
Recommend and implement improvements to processes, tools, and techniques to enhance efficiency and quality
Qualifications :
Associate's or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 4 years of experience in rack engineering, data center operations, or a similar role
Proficient in cable installation and management, including network cables (Cat5e, Cat6, etc.), transceivers, power cords, and liquid cooling systems
Strong understanding of server rack configurations, hardware integration, and data center infrastructure
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for cabling and rack installation
Proven experience coordinating with third-party contractors and internal teams to ensure project success
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders
Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse engineering teams and support cross-functional projects
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cabling and hardware installations
Strong analytical skills to assess installation requirements and devise efficient solutions
Meticulous in ensuring accuracy and neatness in cable routing and hardware placement
Commitment to maintaining comprehensive documentation of installations and configurations
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
Comfortable working in data center environments, which may involve standing for extended periods and working in confined spaces
Certifications such as BICSI, CompTIA Server+, or similar are a plus
