About the Company and Overview of the Staff Accountant role :

Our 4x repeat client is an independent non-profit in the healthcare industry located in the heart of Baltimore City. They serve over 50,000 patients in the Baltimore area and provide healthcare services to low income, underserved areas.

They offer programs and education to improve the lives of members of the community

• Due to growth, they are looking to hire a Staff Accountant to begin work within two weeks of an offer and work in their brand new office space with free parking and in a very safe area! Great lunch spots and gym in close proximity.
• This position begins on a contractual basis and will become permanent for the right candidate depending on performance and fit
• Schedule : 8am-4 : 30pm M-F. Position is 100% in office in Baltimore city to start
• Hybrid- 2 days work from home, 3 days in office after 30-90 days
• Reports directly to the Controller

Job Duties of the Staff Accountant :

• Complete month-end close process
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze income statement accounts on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly journal entries with supporting documentation
• Prepare monthly expense accruals
• Analyze significant account variances and prepare reclassification and adjusting journal entries as appropriate
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits
• Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant :

• 2-4+ years of relevant accounting experience required
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or related required
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and GAAP required
• Healthcare industry experience a plus, but not required
• Experience using Navision or NetSuite a plus
• Intermediate Excel experience required; knowledge of pivot tables, vlookup, formulas, etc.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen as well as provide general vaccination records (covid, flu, etc.)
