Position Information Position Title University Faculty Medical Laboratory Sciences Requisition Number F00415P Job Description The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) at Weber State University invites qualified applicants to apply for a nine-month tenure-track faculty position.
The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching clinical chemistry in the campus and online degree programs. Additional responsibilities will include advising potential and current MLS students, mentoring MLS undergraduate research students, and other course assignments as necessary.
Job Duties Required Qualifications Required :
- BS in MLS / CLS
- Current MT / MLS ASCP certification
- Two years of laboratory experience in clinical chemistry
Preferred Qualifications A master’s or doctoral degree in MLS / CLS or related field is preferred. If the candidate does not have a master’s degree, they must commit to a master’s program within one year of hire and complete the degree within three years of starting the position.
At least two years of teaching at the college level, as well as more than two years of clinical laboratory experience in chemistry is preferred.
A successful candidate will have the following : Successful candidate will have excellent computer skills, including experience with word-processing, spreadsheets, and online education software, and will be comfortable teaching in an online environment.
