Job Summary :

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure high product quality.

This role involves troubleshooting production issues, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for new product introductions.

The Manufacturing Engineer will also develop process documentation, train production staff, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality management systems.

This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to achieve production goals.
  • Design and improve production workflows, layouts, and equipment to maximize efficiency.
  • Identify areas for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Production, to ensure manufacturability of new products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and techniques to reduce waste and improve productivity.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
  • Train production staff on new processes and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Technical Knowledge :
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficient in CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Skills :
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation to drive process improvements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to train and mentor production staff on new processes and technologies.
  • Abilities :

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing is a plus.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment :

  • The role involves frequent liaison with Production which means the role is exposed to a manufacturing environment which includes exposure to machinery, noise, and other industrial hazards.
