Responsibilities
Financial Data Entry :
Accurately record all financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments, into the company's accounting software.
Maintain organized records of all financial documents for easy retrieval and reference.
Accounts Payable and Receivable :
Monitor and process accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices.
Manage accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and process incoming payments promptly.
Bank Reconciliation :
Regularly reconcile bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Financial Reporting :
Prepare and generate financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets, on a regular basis.
Provide financial insights and analysis to management to aid in decision-making.
Payroll :
Administer the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely disbursement of employee salaries, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Maintain records of employee hours worked, vacation, and sick leave.
Recordkeeping :
Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with all accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
Vendor and Client Communication :
Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries or discrepancies.
Provide financial information to clients when necessary.
Qualifications
- An associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, particularly in a trucking or transportation industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of payroll tax and reporting is beneficial.
