HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Responsible for the administration of all human resource functions under the direction of an executive-level position. Maintains an excellent knowledge of current employment and benefit laws and regulations.

Demonstrates well-developed written and oral communication skills. Exercises discretion and independent judgement in dealing with a broad range of sensitive issues and confidential information.

Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Staff / Budget :

  • Provides supervision and counsel to the HR staff to ensure an exceptional standard of competence, confidentiality, and internal customer service.
  • Establishes the annual HR budget and manages expenditures within the constraints of that budget.

Employment Practices :

  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they relate to the HR function.
  • Serve as a resource for new and existing employees to help them engage in the organization.
  • Manage a world-class candidate experience from pre-application through onboarding.
  • Strong presentation skills and willingness to train and speak in group settings.
  • Coaches Managers and Supervisors in proper employee relations resolutions, including documented coaching and disciplinary action.
  • Oversee announcements for new hires, organizational changes and other communications that match our corporate culture.
  • Ensure HR transactions are completed in a timely fashion and that organizational data is accurate.
  • Serve as a champion to help drive ongoing engagement activities participation & lead projects that support the company.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Maintains an elevated level of professionalism. Acts as a liaison between the management team and the employees to align the business unit and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Represents organization at employee related hearings and investigations. Implements HR as well as other necessary companywide training at the business unit.
  • Work closely with management in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational change, and employee development at the business unit or division level.
  • Assist with compensation planning including job architecture, compensation planning, and incentive compensation payments.
  • Promote career development within the organization.
  • Liaise with Marketing to develop and refine our employer brand.
  • Function as a champion of the employer brand by developing engaging content and sites.
  • Participates in safety committee meetings.
  • Participate in quality audits as necessary representing the HR function.
  • Maintain compliance with all required reporting requirements (OFCCP, EEO, etc.)
  • Always maintain employee confidentiality and data security.
  • Notifies supervisors of upcoming employee performance review dates. Assists in achieving 100% on-time employee reviews by tracking and reporting management’s performance to this goal.
  • Manages the Affirmative Action Program. Maintains and routinely reports data to ensure compliance to the Equal Opportunity Employer policy.
  • Support leaders in understanding the unique talents they and their team members bring to the company to harness cohesive, diverse, and productive teams.
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization and sets an example as a proactive leader who earns respect by demonstrating a sound understanding of business objectives and goals.
  • Act as a champion of the employer brand by developing engaging content and sites.
  • Coordinate background checks & drug screens.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining employee facing policies.
  • Manage off-boarding efforts through exit interviews and record updates.
  • Generate and maintain useful reports and dashboards.
  • Maintain accurate job descriptions and external postings.

Recruitment :

  • Practice full life cycle recruiting from requisition approval to offer acceptance.
  • Leverage all aspects of sourcing and candidate development including job posting, sourcing, social networking, employee referrals, and networking events.
  • Ensure an impressive candidate experience by providing a high-quality interview process with thorough communication & timely feedback, as well as interviewer preparedness and effective interview format.
  • Work collaboratively with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to attract and hire talent that will help contribute to the growth of FerroTec.
  • Develop strategies for the communication of our talent brand messaging. Identify and implement methods to effectively communicate our culture in an effort to attract top talent, including website management and social media.
  • Understand the recruiting market and the recruiting life cycles to be a source of information / consultant to business leaders.
  • Participates in the interviewing process and extends job offers as appropriate.

Compensation :

  • Provides data and guidance to supervisors and managers regarding compensation issues in support of the recruitment, merit increase, and promotion processes.
  • Maintains current information on competitive compensation ranges.

Benefit Programs :

  • Manages the medical, dental, life insurance, and short-term / long-term disability plans, section 125 cafeteria plan, and employee assistance program.
  • Recommends cost-effective services and products such as insurance, software, and advisory / support services. Negotiates and secures services and products under the direction of the executive manager.
  • Communicates benefits information to employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversees the processing of applications and claims. Acts as liaison between employees and benefit suppliers to obtain timely responses to employee requests and resolution of benefit claims.
  • Performs administrative functions for the 401(k) plan such as enrollment, loan processing, and distribution.
  • Prepares and submits IRS 5500 filings as required.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and pending benefits laws and IRS requirements. Participates in benefit-plan audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Policies / Procedures / Processes / Forms :

  • Drafts new and revised documentation for review and approval by the executive manager and / or the executive staff.
  • Publishes and communicates approved HR administrative and policy changes to the employee base, as directed by the executive manager.

Training :

  • Routinely gathers input from supervisors and managers on training requirements.
  • Identifies internal and external training sources.
  • Schedules internal training; tracks employees’ external training; obtains copies of training certificates for personnel files;

and collects feedback on training effectiveness.

Oversees the administration of the Tuition Reimbursement Program.

Safety :

Provides HR representation on the Safety Committee to ensure compliance to all local, state, and OSHA safety requirements.

Manages the Safety Committee budget including employee reimbursement programs for safety equipment.

  • Provides administrative support to the Safety Committee and ensures that all reporting requirements are met.
  • Ensures the timely processing of accident reports and remedial actions to eliminate any identified safety issues.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 5+ years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues, strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing operations team highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience working with Japanese based Global Headquarters a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team-player mindset and willingness to collaborate.
  • Willing to take responsibility and act independently when necessary.
  • This position serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
  • Ability to lead small teams / projects as needed.
