Job Details
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of laboratory equipment, including but not limited to, SCIEX and Shimadzu instruments, mass spec, and other related apparatus.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory instruments, ensuring minimum downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with scientists and laboratory personnel to understand their requirements, develop solutions, and provide technical support.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for all laboratory equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and standards when handling laboratory equipment, especially during troubleshooting and repair.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all equipment repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on the proper use and handling of equipment.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in laboratory technology and propose the acquisition of new equipment when necessary.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in equipment repairs, laboratory equipment troubleshooting, preferably in a reference laboratory environment.
- Experience with SCIEX, Shimadzu, LC-MS, and mass spec is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to a wide range of laboratory equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and standards in a laboratory environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computer software and applications related to equipment maintenance and repair.
- Willingness to keep abreast of new technology in the field.
