We are looking for a Behavior aide to leads group activities for residents in a variety of recreational and therapeutic pursuits, i.
e. parties, sing-a-longs, bingo, exercises, crafts, church activities, food related socials, sensory programs, and group therapy.
In this role you will be expected to..
- DOCUMENTS ALL ACTIVITIES AND REVIEWS INDIVIDUAL RESIDENT ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION RECORD WITH PROGRAM DIRECTOR.
- INVITES AND TRANSPORTS RESIDENT / GUEST TO AND FROM ACTIVITIES.
- REGULARLY PROVIDES AND DOCUMENTS MEANINGFUL 1 : 1 IN-ROOM VISITS IF INDICATED.
- PREPARATION FOR SPECIALIZED THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMMING.
- MAINTAINS AND CLEANS DEPARTMENT SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS AS ASSIGNED.
- ANSWERS ALL CALL BELL AND PLACES THEM IN REACH OF RESIDENT / GUEST.
- FILLS WATER PITCHERS WITH FRESH ICE WATER UNLESS CONTRAINDICATED.
- OFFERS SNACKS TO ALL RESIDENTS / GUESTS AND DOCUMENTS APPROPRIATELY.
- MONITORS RESIDENTS DURING SMOKING PERIODS WHEN ASSIGNED.
- DEMONSTRATES ABILITY TO DEESCALATE RESIDENT THROUGH VERBAL STRATEGIES, REDIRECTIONS AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT AND REPORT TO NURSE IMMEDIATELY.
- ASSIST WITH MEAL PASS IN A TIMELY MANNER.
Qualifications :
- H.S Diploma / G.E.D
- Must be vaccinated for Covid-19 / and or have an exemption for medical or religious reasons
- Preffered experience in Behavioral Health and Long-Term Care setting
