The Director of Entertainment is responsible for supporting Entertainment initiatives throughout the property. Supports all aspects of the booking process, including identifying artists, coordinating with internal / external departments, working with promoters and clients, suggesting proper scaling, assisting with the creation of show budgets, production / hospitality advances, and overseeing the final settlement process for events.
This role focuses on strategy, project management and operations, and requires a high level of attention to detail, prompt and clear communication skills, analytical problem-solving ability, and an orientation toward execution.
Job Duties :
Primary Job Duties : Includes but is not limited to :
- Oversees assigned functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the division and Resorts World Las Vegas.
- Maintains and updates active event files, tracking progress of contracts, ticket sales, production logistics, and coordinating artist hotel accommodation / transportation needs.
- Drives financial performance by effectively managing various project budgets including artist fees, labor, equipment, and sub-rentals.
- Cultivates and maintains relationships with key venue personnel to enhance the overall business relationships, in addition to maintaining relationships with external clients / vendors by providing information, support, and guidance.
- Develops relationships with promoters, talent managers, and booking agents while negotiating contractual deal terms and conditions.
- Regularly conduct external research on a variety of topics and stay current on related industry and marketplace trends.
- Creates a work environment that promotes integrity, Company values, teamwork, extraordinary performance, accountability, continuous improvement, recognition, and employee satisfaction.
- Liaison between Entertainment and other internal business units (Special Events, Sales, F&B, Casino, etc.).
- Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
- Use personal device / cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Qualifications :
Qualifications : Includes but is not limited to :
- Experience as a vendor / client liaison for complex projects from start to finish.
- Excellent communication skills; demonstrated project management abilities; knowledge of production technologies.
- Strong financial acumen with a history of success in improving operations and processes in an Entertainment Operations role.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced, busy, and stressful environment; maintain proper mental attitude and ability to operate effectively while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks as a high energy leader while maintaining a strong focus on guests both internal and external.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal.
- Polished appearance and demeanor.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within the team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to successfully lead and mentor a team.
Preferred :
Strong working knowledge of industry standard A / V technologies, contractual negotiations, ticketing platforms, and best practices.
Minimum Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least eight years' experience in a technical management position on a large-scale production.
- At least five years of directly related operational management experience at a similar leadership level.
- Must be 21 years of age.
Preferred :
Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
