Director National Account, Distribution
The Director National Accounts, Distribution will drive brand revenue by maximizing product movement within the distribution channels.
Communicate to field management and Executive Management emerging key industry trade trends, contracting, brand management, and customer service.
Will be responsible for Distribution across the value chain in the Trade, Specialty Pharmacy (SP) and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) channels.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Director National Accounts, Distribution, are to :
Execute Customer Strategy and Business Development :
- Maintain profitable channel strategies for Bayer products at Trade, SP and / or GPO customer accounts;
- Responsible for the management of channel inventory which includes downstream customers such as retail and specialty pharmacies.
- Monitor weekly purchasing patterns of wholesalers and all other direct accounts to assure compliance with our Distribution Service Agreements;
- Lead identification and assessment of new and innovative business opportunities to drive profitable short- and long-term customer partnerships and institutional sales;
- Monitor and communicate customer interactions across channels and functions at "Mega-Accounts," and ensures customer insights are collected and shared to create harmonized engagement tactics across the account;
- Develop and maintain relationships with Distribution Customer Accounts.
Internal Collaborating, Coordinating and Alignment :
- Provide input to Account Management colleagues, Medical / HEOR, Product Teams and BUs, and Legal to build profitable and effective customer strategies and bring appropriate expertise into customer engagement activities;
- Enable flow of field-base channel insights to Channel Marketing, Brand Teams and BUs to enable better understanding of managed markets customers, market dynamics and competitive trends that could impact profitable access;
- Provide strategic input to Distribution Team to ensure activities and tactics align to and support business objectives across Distribution accounts;
- Support Finance in chargeback disputes, deductions, etc.;
- Attend Industry Conferences, Trade Shows, Trade Associations;
- Serve on customer and industry Advisory Boards;
- Serve on customer and industry working committees and Advisory Boards Provide insight into all Mega Accounts and Key Account Management activities;
- Performance Management and Resource Alignment : Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts and knowledge sharing initiatives among account teams to emphasize / disseminate best practices;
- Work with BI and Contract analytics to report on effectiveness of engagement strategies and tactics with Trade accounts.
Align with Brand P&L for optimum revenue flow.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following :
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree;
- Experience across Trade channels;
- Experience within a Retail / Distributor organization or the Pharmaceutical industry in Trade Account Management;
- Must have keen understanding of drug wholesaler, distributor and retail segments and be able to interact with multiple customers both external and internal;
- Strong negotiation skills and relationship building skills;
- Ability to travel extensively as needed;
- Valid Driver’s License and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines base on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening).
Preferred Qualifications :
- MBA;
- 10+ years of Account Mgt experience within Pharmaceutical industry or trade organization;
- 5+ years Market Access Experience;
- Experience in executing market access strategies for trade accounts, and exposure to contract development and negotiations;
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $174,488 to $261,732. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
