As a valuable member of a high-volume Payroll team;
You will perform a variety of routine clerical and payroll functions in support of separate bi-weekly and bi-monthly payroll check runs.
This includes verifying incoming payroll data, assisting in processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and communicating with internal and external payroll customers.
General Description of Duties :
- Performs a variety of routine clerical duties involved in the preparation, maintenance and processing of payroll transactions and records.
- Collects and verifies timekeeping data and employee forms required for payroll processing.
- Audits and ensures all timecards are signed by the employee and manager.
- Communicates with employees and managers to help resolve payroll issues and answer questions.
- Maintains employee records related to payroll data.
- Complies and prepares payroll reports as assigned.
- Assists with internal and external payroll audit preparation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year (1) experience working in a business office atmosphere required.
- One year (1) high volume (300 + employees) in-house payroll experience preferred.
- Basic level of proficiency in operating a PC-based computer system in a Windows environment.
- Basic level of proficiency in spreadsheet and data processing applications (i.e., Excel, Word).
- Skill and accuracy in using a 10-key calculator by touch for data entry.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, telephonically, in person).
- Skill and ability in attention to detail.
- Ability to work alone.
Other Requirements : Must possess a valid NM driver’s license, and proof of auto liability insurance. Must have own reliable transportation, and proof of current liability insurance.
Must pass pre-employment drug and TB screening, Agency, Federal and State Department of Health background investigations.
Additional background investigations may be required depending on the job assignment, or job transfer.
Job Type : Full-Time Monday thru Friday.
Pay : From $17.00 - $18.00 per hour.
