Reporting to the Assistant Director of Graduate and Professional Admissions and as a member of the Graduate and Professional Admissions (GP) team, the Program Coordinator for International and Sponsored Student Recruitment is responsible for the following job responsibilities :
Serves as an advanced resource for problem resolution and second tier calls and visits, within the Office of Graduate and Professional Admissions (GP).
Serves as a resource to GP and Buckeye Link staff to research and resolve escalated cases involving complex application and enrollment issues.
Maintains current knowledge of international and professional admissions policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations, SEVIS, and understanding visa types and distinctions.
Meets with students via virtual or in-person appointments, responds to student inquiries via email, answers phone calls and resolves issues.
Uses a Peoplesoft Student information database to look up applicant information and provide status updates to applicants, admits and matriculants.
Conducts recruitment outreach via phone or email using a Salesforce CRM. Ensures effective intake of students. Stays current with Ohio State Graduate and Professional program offerings and application procedures.
Interfaces with programs and processing units.
- Utilizes professional knowledge and international student experience to manage Graduate and Professional Admissions outreach and recruitment activities in support of international recruitment initiatives;
- plans the scheduling of recruitment events on-campus and off- campus including presenting webinars with EDUSA; serves as liaison and point of contact between EducationUSA and sponsoring agencies, international alumni groups, SEM Marketing and Strategic Communications, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and program offices;
serves as primary point of contact for Fulbright graduate applicants. Creates targeted recruitment and yield marketing campaigns and implements on-campus and off-campus recruitment programming designed to cultivate relationships that facilitate the development of enrollment pipelines for prospective students identified in the Strategic Enrollment plan.
Ensures timely and accurate administration, management, and communication of events, programs and initiatives and tracks and reports success of these recruitment efforts.
Serves as a subject matter resource for information focusing on best practices for recruitment and enrollment that promotes international student enrollment.
Participates in special projects to support the needs of Graduate Outreach area, particularly as they relate to recruitment.
Serves on university and professional committees, including selection and interview committees. Manages up to 3 student workers.
Provides oversight and direction for training of student staff to provide comprehensive knowledge about admissions, the campus and university.
Updates training on a yearly basis. Establishes and coordinates schedules to meet staffing goals and manages budget. Employs a comprehensive performance management process including setting expectations through planning, coaching and performance review.
Conducts large and small-group presentations and webinars regarding the admission process. Travels to represent GP at recruiting venues, both locally and nationally.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Occasional weekend and evening work required. Occasional overnight travel (for professional development conferences and / or recruitment activities) required.
This position is based in-person, on campus, however; a hybrid schedule may be approved after successful completion of training, subject to the operational needs of the Outreach team.
Education / Experience
Required : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 2 years of relevant experience; Excellent communication and presentation skills;
Experience with office technology, such as Microsoft Office applications; Strong project management skills; Strong customer-service background and ability to track and resolve problems.
Desired : 2-4 years of relevant experience, particularly in the field of Admissions / Recruitment, or a closely related field;
Demonstrated experience working with international students at the graduate level.
