Position Overview

We are seeking an additional full-time Student Resource Coordinator to join a dynamic team directly impacting the lives of post-secondary students facing housing insecurity in our community.

This is a support role responsible for administrative and program tasks working with students, staff, and community partners.

The ARCS (Affordable Rents for College Students) Student Resource Coordinator provides professional-level coaching, service coordination, and case management support to ARCS students with diverse lived experiences.

The work is specifically focused on assisting ARCS students in achieving their post-secondary education goals and increasing self-sufficiency through subsidized student housing through CHNW (College Housing Northwest).

Location : This is a hybrid role supporting students at multiple CHNW sites in Portland Metro, combining in-office / onsite and virtual meetings.

Student Resource Coordinator Snapshot of Duties

  • Assess student barriers, needs, and resources
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Provide coaching related to financial literacy, tenant education, academic resource supports, and increased self-sufficiency
  • Support ARCS students through the life cycle of their CHNW rental experience
  • Provide ongoing support to students including monthly check-ins and providing resources
  • Act as main point of contact for post-secondary education and non-profit referring partners
  • Collect and document student demographic data, program activities, and outcomes in appropriate databases, forms, and reports
  • Provide logistical support for the program including event planning / scheduling
  • Prepare mailings and assemble materials for presentations, meetings, and events
  • Engage ARCS students in advocacy efforts including coaching for speaking engagements

Student Resource Coordinator Qualifications

  • Associates degree or commensurate experience; Bachelor's or equivalent preferred
  • We are open to consideration of a variety of different post-secondary educational experiences
  • 2 years’ experience in case management, social work, counseling, or a related field
  • 2 years’ experience working in student housing or with post-secondary students in some capacity, non-profit experience preferred
  • Experience in conflict management, especially trauma-informed approaches
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse and underrepresented populations
  • Strong computer skills / technical savvy
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative nature
