So, what does an Environmental Manager do? You’ll be an integral part of our HSE Team :

Analyze a wide array of environmental requirements including permits, plans and regulatory requirements and determine applicability to our operations.

Develop and maintain a compliance framework that communicates plant responsibilities for each compliance program.

  • Responsible for filing Environmental Permits and documentation as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring reports, documentation and inspections are up to date, and available for inspections by regulatory agencies.
  • Inspects and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and work practices, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards and government regulations.
  • Develop material to engage and educate operations on environmental awareness topics and required tasks. Provide training on an individual and group basis.
  • Create environmental solutions to support business needs, identify environmental risks, and develop strategies to minimize their impacts.
  • Reports EHS trends and makes recommendations for continuous improvement to management staff.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate PPE processes for plant environmental applications.
  • Ensures compliance with both EPA and DEP regulations.
  • Assists in monitoring site contractors.
  • Monitor and perform regularly scheduled audits and inspections for plant program adherence to all policies, processes, equipment, and work areas
  • Demonstrate and support the Silvi rules and policies and promote an overall healthy and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or other relevant course of study.
  • 3- 5 years of experience managing field environmental duties preferred.
  • Experience within the mining or concrete industry preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills including MS suite and relevant software programs.
  • Occupational health, safety and environmental compliance experience with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
  • Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies.
  • Able to travel locally to plant sites.
  • OSHA 500, MSHA Blue Card, First Aid / CPR, CSP or CIH Certifications a plus.
  • Ability to provide trainings on the weekend and evenings occasionally throughout the year.
