Pipe Stress Engineer - Immediate Hire

Kelly® Engineering is hiring a Pipe Stress Engineer with 5-10 years' experience for a remote 6 month contract position with our client, a mid-sized Engineering Firm.

Overview

Our client is global engineering firm that specializes in electrical power generation, transmission & distribution. They have 2500+ employees that focus on planning & design, engineering, construction, and maintenance.

Their nuclear power generating team is adding a Pipe Stress Engineer.

In this role, you will be performing stress analyses, preparing piping and engineering specifications and ensuring code compliance.

You will be working with a team of engineers across disciplines and locations on client projects involving modifications to existing power generation facilities and plant systems for today's leading energy providers.

A laptop will be provided to you and you will be required to maintain traditional office hours of 8-5PM Eastern Standard Time

Responsibilities :

  • Design and analysis of changes to existing power plants as well as new plant systems.
  • Perform calculations, develop isometrics, and provide design recommendations, specifications, and design change packages
  • Lead design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team
  • Provide technical support for field execution, including outage / turnaround projects
  • Assist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development
  • Mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications :

  • BS in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from ABET accredited university required.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years piping / mechanical design experience with focus on pipe stress analysis projects in nuclear facilities, oil & gas or similar systems.
  • Strong organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication with clients, colleagues, and colleagues within other disciplines, project managers, and management.
  • Proficiency with AutoPipe or SuperPipe is required
  • Professional Engineering License preferred.
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, and CAD Software.
