Additional Information About the Role BJC is seeking an experienced Manager of Marketing & Editorial to join The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a leading organization in fostering a healthier region through philanthropy.
This role develops marketing initiatives that raise awareness of the Foundation and crafts compelling stories about what our donors make possible.
This role blends management of a growing area, as well as hands-on marketing and content work. Prior experience with nonprofit storytelling and marketing, editorial development and management, and working with writers, designers, and video teams will be critical to success.
This is a hybrid role based in St. Louis, with team members spending at least two days a week in the Foundation’s St. Louis office near Forest Park and the BJC campus.

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Leads with C&M leadership in development, design, production and implementation of materials that promote the communications, marketing and education goals of BJC HealthCare, its hospitals and services.
Responsible for leading the development, design, production, implementation and budget management of printed, electronic and display materials promoting the image and identity of BJC Healthcare and affiliates.
These goals are achieved by careful coordination and planning with the department, HSO and system leadership. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to : hires, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet / support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and / or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Strengthens existing communications or marketing and communications platforms, channels and vehicles, and leverages communications best practices to initiate and develop more effective and efficient communications or marketing and communications channels and tools.
Integrates current change management concepts and strategies into all team responsibilities and communications / communications and marketing deliverables.
Manages strategic marketing partnerships with sports teams, and local / regional organizations and entities. Supports senior team leadership in managing external vendor relationships and deliverables relative to advertising, publications and web materials and measurement.
Leads in identification of marketing and / or communications infrastructure needs. Creates and implements plans to effectively address deficiencies.
Evaluates effectiveness and proactively seeks opportunities for ongoing departmental improvement. May be responsible for employee / consumer issues and concerns and for implementation of planning initiatives.
