The Role : Director of Aviation
As the Director of Aviation, you'll take the helm of our industry-leading flight department. Operating a Challenger and aircraft, our flight schedule comprises % domestic flying and % international destinations.

Responsibilities :
- Oversight of Aviation Assets : Manage all owned, leased, and chartered aircraft, ensuring their optimal use and maintenance.
- Strategic Direction : Stay abreast of aviation trends and technological advancements, shaping the department's strategic direction.
- Executive Communication : Ensure transparent communication regarding organizational changes, capital expenditure requirements within the flight department, and maintain alignment with overarching organizational goals and needs.
- Safety Management : Hold the pivotal role of Accountable Executive, ensuring resolution on all safety-related matters within our Safety Management System.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, ICAO standards, and company policies across all aviation operations.
- Team Leadership : Attract, recruit, and retain a highly skilled team to ensure seamless operations.
- Resource Management : Direct aircraft scheduling, crew management, and negotiate cost-effective contracts for fuel, hangar leases, and equipment purchases.
- Administrative Oversight : Liaise with executive staff and their assistants regarding flight schedules, passenger handling, and deviations due to weather or mechanical issues.
- Financial Stewardship : Prepare and manage annual operating budgets, maintaining compliance documentation for regulatory bodies.
- Training and Development : Direct departmental training activities, exceeding FAA regulations to ensure high standards of expertise.
- Facility Compliance : Oversee facility management to ensure adherence to airport, OSHA, and EPA guidelines.
- Policy Implementation : Develop, implement, and administer operating policies and procedures for the flight department.
- Representation : Act as the face of our flight department in industry forums and groups, championing our commitment to excellence.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Director may fly as a part time pilot.
Required Skills :
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certification with multi-engine landing rating, First Class Medical Certification, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Radio License, and valid passport.

- Prior experience as a Chief Pilot / Corporate Jet Captain flying domestically and internationally.
- Must be able to pass FAA Class I physical examination.
Preferred Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in aviation / business discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Ten plus years of experience in managing aviation services including providing strategic plans that align with corporate objectives, operation, and maintenance plans, developing and managing a department and capital budgets (including the procurement and maintenance of aircraft), and overseeing the monitoring of all departmental financial and operational metrics to ensure that they are on track.
- Experience in monitoring the status of crew members' qualifications, flight standards, and ensures that all flight operations, records, and filings are in accordance with applicable FAA and ICAO standards.
