We are seeking a detail-oriented Per Diem Pharmacist to support our pharmacy team with medication dispensing, quality assurance, and compounding.
In this role, you’ll conduct medication checks, manage control medications, process backorders, and assist with maintaining compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations.
Location : On site at our closed-door, Cheshire CT, pharmacy
Compensation : starting at $63 / hr (contingent upon experience)
Schedule : Varying schedules are available - Must work at least one, 8 hour shift, monthly

Key Responsibilities :
- Check and review Floor Technician work (PV2).
- Check, verify and replace contents of E-Kits.
- Pull control medication to match that of label.
- Maintain count accuracy and organization of the control room.
- Compound sterile and non-sterile products.
- Make necessary NDC changes.
- Process new and completed backorders.
- Fill and review OOP / LOA requests as they come in.
- Fill Clozapine orders.
- Check medications that have been packaged (pre-pack).
- Supervising other Pharmacists (when PIC) and overseeing Floor Technicians.
- Assist pharmacy technicians as needed.?
- On-Call when scheduled.
- Ensure PV2 is meeting its commitments for pharmacy run times and exceeding expectations of our customers / colleagues performing PV1.
- Abide by all federal and state laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy.?
- Follow the pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective medication use, including participation in the pharmacy’s continuous quality improvement program.
- Report medication errors to management as they occur.?
- Knowledge of medication, interactions, and dosage.
- Complete QA sheets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Flex into PV1 role as available.
- Must adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer
Qualifications :
- Pharmacist license to practice in state required (must be in good standing)
- Experience in long term care is preferred
- Experience with Frameworks and Docutrack is preferred

- Must have the ability to employ critical thinking skills and ability
- This position includes access to highly confidential information including protected health information (PHI) - the Associate must follow Federal and State HIPAA / Privacy laws and maintain compliance with the company’s policies and professional ethics
- Ability to exert up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally and / or lift, carry, push or move objects and stand or perform data entry on a computer for extended periods of time during shift
- This position requires the ability to understand direction and adhere to established procedures
- This position requires near vision acuity and color recognition
