Legacy Foods MFG is a sauce and dressing manufacturer located in Elk Grove Village that is currently
looking for a full time Food Product Developer to assist with the development of sauces and
data collection for new products. Our Research and Development department is expanding very quickly
and we are looking for a team player to help us continue our growth through innovation, dedication,
enthusiasm and support.
A snapshot of some of the responsibilities within this role :
Assist in the creation of new prototypes for R&D initiatives while designing and executing all stages of
product development, including formulation, new ingredient sourcing and completing project
documentation.
Work with customers and suppliers to deliver new products that meet customer needs in a cost-
effective manner and with formulations that can be processed in a production setting.
- Price out projects as needed
- Review and document raw ingredients, formulations, and final product specifications to maintain
accurate records and to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Prepare paperwork and packaging for shipping samples.
- Maintain laboratory including upkeep of equipment, stocking of supplies and general cleaning of work
areas.
- Assist in sensory evaluations.
- Assist with shelf life testing
- Have flexibility with hours especially when doing production trials and test batches
- Comply with quality systems and GMP's.
- Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary.
Requirements :
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Minimum of 2 years previous food industry experience is required
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Software especially in Word and Excel
- Positive and self-starter attitude with initiative to get things done
- Excellent oral, written and verbal communication interpersonal skills
- Highly organized team player with strong critical thinking skills
- Acute attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands and shift priorities when needed
- Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Ability to problem solve and come up with creative solutions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have a strong passion for food and be able to bring creative ideas to the table
- Bi-Lingual English / Spanish is a plus but not necessary
