Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President of People & Culture (P&C) and located in Carlsbad, CA, the Director, P&C Business Partner Stores, will serve as a strategic partner to retail leadership, building an agenda and providing guidance on organizational effectiveness, talent management, workforce planning, employee engagement, and ensuring our Vuori culture is thriving.
You will lead, develop and work cross functionally with a team of P&C partners ensuring consistent and high-quality support across a growing stores landscape.
These efforts will contribute to building, scaling and sustaining P&C capabilities across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
What you'll get to do :
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Be a strategic thought partner to stores leadership team in service of elevating and scaling an aggressive growth agenda.
- Assess, build, align and execute an end-to-end Retail P&C strategy that supports strategic business outcomes and lays the foundation for the future.
- Lead, inspire and develop a team of P&C Business Partners and Generalists.
- Be a thought partner to stores leadership, team members and demonstrate success in assessing organizational health of store work environments.
- Determine ways to continue to leverage our strengths and identify opportunities either across the fleet, within a district, or at a store level while finding the right balance between speed and process / compliance.
Recommend creative solutions.
- Be the steward of Vuori’s culture and values.
- Partner with cross functional P&C teams, e.g. Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Compensation and Benefits, etc.
to identify strengths and opportunities across the retail employee lifecycle.
- Identify ways to create data that will be most impactful to our stores and influence business leaders with data-driven recommendations.
- Be comfortable with ambiguity in an evolving, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.
- Develop change management plans and manage stakeholders before and after changes take place.
- Be an enthusiastic partner to the stores team, collaborate, and have a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication including high-quality document preparation and presentation skills.
- Be able to work independently and exercise excellent judgment, as well as be an active member of both the store leadership and our People and Culture team.
Qualifications
Who you are :
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR or Business, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of relevant HR generalist / business partner experience in dynamic, fast-paced retail organizations.
- Demonstrated experience building and implementing scalable HR infrastructure and practices across a stores fleet.
- Proven experience effectively leading and inspiring direct and indirect HR teams.
- Strong understanding of organizational development.
- Extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, and federal and state employment laws (ie : EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, HIPPA, OSHA, etc.).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Well organized, plans effectively and prioritizes time according to what is most impactful.
- Strong consulting and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Proven success at developing strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
- PHR / SPHR certification preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in other human resource disciplines with including compensation, change management, talent management, organizational diagnosis and planning, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

The salary range for this role is $200,000 per year - $220,000 per year. This role is bonus eligible.
