The Director of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) & Medical Supplies will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the DME & Medical Supply department, including inventory management processes, process improvements, vendor relationship management, and ensuring the efficient and effective provision of durable medical equipment and medical supplies to our participants.

This is a hands-on leadership role with no direct reports. It will be a work-from-home position with approximately 25% travel to our InnovAge facilities.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize inventory management processes.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality of DME & Medical Supply services.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with DME & Medical Supply vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including providers, clinicians, care coordinators, and finance team, to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of DME & Medical Supply services.
  • Oversee the procurement, distribution, tracking, utilization, and maintenance of inventory to meet the needs of our participants.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to DME services and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Analyze data and key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance departmental performance.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Center staff to foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in DME management to drive innovation and excellence in service delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements up to 25% between local InnovAge worksites and some overnight travel out of state

REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field.
  • 10+ yrs in a leadership role overseeing DME & Medical Supply operations in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of DME & Medical Supply inventory management processes, supply chain management, and healthcare regulations.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and achieving operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
