BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY :

The Product Information Specialist I position is responsible for gathering all product information to support New Item Inductions for their aligned Product Lines.

PI Specialist I is responsible for the coordination and delivery of high quality, low to medium complexity New Item Induction plans.

The Product Information Specialist I works cross functionally within the organization and with product suppliers to gather product information details to support the critical needs of the business.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Collects product information from suppliers in support of new item induction
  • Contacts suppliers for additional product information and collaborate with the Digital Asset Management Team as needed.
  • Researches and analyzes multiple data sources to determine correct operational data values and attributes.
  • Educates suppliers on MSC requirements for data quality and product information standards.
  • Accountable for product information to ensure it meets the highest degree of data quality.
  • Conduct cross-functional meetings with stakeholder groups to provide status updates and align priorities.
  • Identifies opportunities for more robust product data or product data enrichment opportunities
  • Coordinate data collection projects and communicate timeline to stakeholder groups.
  • Sort, filter, and update product information using Microsoft Excel and the Product Information Management system.
  • Keeps worklist task statuses up to date to reflect accurate reporting and metrics.
  • Responsible for quality assurance review(s) for plans within their assigned Product Line completed by 3rd Parties with accountability for full ownership of their assigned Product Lines.
  • Participates in special data collection projects to comply with government regulations and other compliance related scenarios.

Examples include Country of Origin, Product Information gap fill, and drop ship lead time.

  • Manages multiple work streams while working with different suppliers to onboard product data
  • Additional duties as required to maintain data standards.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years business experience required
  • Experience working with large amounts of product information data in Microsoft Excel

SKILLS :

  • Microsoft Excel able to manage, update, and analyze tabular data with ease.
  • Communication ability to clearly instruct others through verbal or written communications.
  • Detail Oriented able to consistently apply data changes with precision.
  • Project Management able to keep work tasks on track to meet project objectives.
  • Time Management work prioritization and multi-tasking skills as well as the ability to keep work tasks on track to meet project objectives.
  • Critical thinking able to sort and validate data for quality and completeness.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information ( ITAR ) and / or Controlled Unclassified Information ( CUI ).
