Position Summary :

Oklahoma City University seeks a highly-motivated individual for a 10-month position in athletics media relations to work in OCU's nationally prominent athletics department, winner of 73 national championships in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and other national associations and numerous Sooner Athletic Conference titles.

This hands-on experience features execution and management of game-day operations working closely with athletics personnel in communication with media and other constituents, writing in-depth feature and game stories, management of the athletics web site ), engaging the public via social media, capturing photographs and videos, producing promotional videos and graphics, recording statistics from a variety of sports, assisting with day-to-day operations, and other duties as assigned.

Oklahoma City University fields varsity intercollegiate teams in baseball, competitive cheerleading, competitive dance, softball, STUNT, women’s volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s rowing, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track & field and men’s and women’s wrestling.

Evening, weekend and holiday hours are required.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in athletics administration, journalism, marketing, or related fields. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, plus a demonstrated knowledge of scoring rules and procedures for athletic contests, desktop publishing skills, and strong computer skills.

Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Production Truck, Adobe Premiere or similar video editing software, PrestoStats and Stat Crew programs a plus.

The job will run from until May 31, .
