Semi Skilled Laborer - Southeast Youth Development Center, Montgomery County

THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services, Southeast Youth Development Center is looking for a dedicated and motivated person to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will perform semi-skilled tasks across various trades within the youth development center and youth forestry camp system.

You will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of the buildings and grounds, adhering to the established guidelines and standards of the agency.

Your work will contribute significantly to the overall environment and functionality of the facilities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours m ay changed based on operational need.
• This position may require travel and overtime.
• Free parking is available.
• Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :

• One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction;
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment :

This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements :

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
• Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
