In the role of Highway / Roads EIT, we'll count on you to :

  • Work as a key member of the Transportation Team on moderate to large projects and work independently on smaller projects
  • Assimilate and manage data
  • Provide transportation design services for transit, highway, state agencies, cities and counties
  • Prepare the following roadway / highway design elements using local agency or AASHTO design standards : horizontal and vertical alignment, 3D modeling, roadway cross sections, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, and roadway drainage
  • Work with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for projects of various sizes and complexities
  • Manage the following work elements : day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the other team members, write reports and technical memos, and organize project tasks in support of senior staff
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter who strives to learn and take on increasing responsibilities
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Willingness to work over-time as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Proficient with MicroStation and / or AutoCAD, familiarityand demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software suchas Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and / or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
