The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Office of Legal Services (OLS), Health Care Delivery Systems Branch (HCDSB), Behavioral Health Section (BHS) is seeking a permanent, full time Attorney Supervisor to join the OLS team.
The Attorney Supervisor position is crucial in reaching our mission of providing Californians with access to affordable, integrated, high-quality health care, with emphasis on behavioral health.
The Attorney Supervisor will have the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in California! Telework is subject to DHCS' Telework Program guidelines.

As an Attorney Supervisor, the incumbent will lead a team of attorneys that work with behavioral health programs that focus on critical issues that directly impact the health care of our community and provide health care related benefits and services to almost one in three Californians.

Working Conditions
Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and / or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200-14203 for employees residing in California.
This position is a statewide recruitment, and the incumbent will be headquartered in the county nearest their residence, including but not limited to the following counties : Sacramento, San Francisco, Orange (Santa Ana), San Bernardino (Rancho Cucamonga), San Diego, and Los Angeles.

- Knowledge of Title XIX of the Social Security Act; the Medi-Cal program; and the Department’s organization.
- Knowledge of the Public Records Act, privacy and information security; and legislative, judicial and administrative processes.
- Knowledge of existing initiatives and trends involving behavioral health in California.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of flexibility, tact, and diplomacy, judgment and confidentiality.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff, inspire positive morale and cooperative work.
- Experience managing multifaceted administrative, technical or legal projects.
- Able and committed to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals; and establish working relationships.
- Ability to advise management and others on a wide range of programmatic, technical and legal matters.
- Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize tasks; and meet critical deadlines.
