Commercial building Cleaning Regional Manager
We are looking for someone to lead our commercial cleaning division. The Manager is responsible for planning, assigning, and supervising the work and training of Janitorial Workers engaged in cleaning and minor maintenance tasks.
Specific oral and written instructions accompany major assignments, but the employee makes ordinary decisions and is responsible for planning work schedules and methods.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Operations and work is reviewed based on results obtained.
While experience in the following, we would like to find someone willing to learn, improve, and teach the following skills to our crews.
This is a fast-paced position that will keep even the most energetic personality busy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Supervise employees and area supervisors engaged in building cleaning.
- Instructs janitorial workers and area supervisors in proper custodial and safety methods;
- Keeps time and attendance records
- Assigning daily tasks to employees
- Prepare written disciplinary actions, memos, and employee performance appraisals;
- Checks equipment for the proper working condition;
- Respond to requests of Clients, directors and VP of Operations
- Acts as a liaison between custodian and company;
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Walk with the clients and respond to the client's requests and necessities in time and manner.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of :
- Materials, supplies, and practices essential to the cleaning of buildings.
- Use and care of vacuum cleaners, floor buffing machines, mop wringers, mops, brushes, soaps, cleaning fluids, and other materials and equipment related to the custodial care of buildings.
- Hazards and safety methods related to custodial operations.
- Generally acceptable workplace conduct.
- Supervisory practices.
- A clean driving record and a valid license are required.
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish)
- Use multiple types of software to track job progress. Proficiency with a phone and tablet is required.
Ability to :
- Communicate in the English and Spanish language in writing and orally with individuals in a face-to-face, one-on-one, or group setting or by telephone.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions given in the English and Spanish languages.
- Produce documents written in the English or Spanish language with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.
- Performs a broad range of supervisory responsibility over others.
- Instructs others in the methods and operation of equipment.
- Ensure that employees follow operational rules to meet cleanliness standards.
- Observe, compare, or monitor data, objects, and people's behavior to determine compliance with prescribed safety and operating standards.
- Perform a physical inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Respond to trouble calls in a timely manner.
- Work cooperatively with other employees and the public.
- Move objects weighing less than 50 pounds, long and short distances.
