Human Resource Assistant
Position Summary :
The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the
organization's human resource department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Data entry into HR-related software
- Assist with recruitment, which may include posting jobs, reviewing resumes, maintaining records, scheduling interviews,
communicating with applicants, sending offer letters and other pre-employment forms, and running background checks.
Organize new hire onboarding, which may include coordinating start date, orientation meetings, and equipment with all
applicable departments, gathering new hire packets, producing welcome week schedule, collecting and reviewing
completed new hire forms, and assisting in answering new hire's questions
Organize offboarding, which may include administrative functions such as gathering exit paperwork and receive completed
forms, completing exit checklists, coordinating separation meeting, terminate employee in various HR systems, etc.
Assist with coordinating and scheduling drug and alcohol testing, including generating and distributing Authorization Form,
contacting clinic or TPA when necessary, etc. (for pre-employment, randoms, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, rehab
follow-ups)
Assist with payroll functions including gathering required paperwork / forms, answering employee questions, processing,
fixing processing errors, and distributing checks
Assist with benefit administration, which may include providing notices, paperwork and forms to employees, entering
information into benefits system, and collecting and submitting employee information to insurance carriers or insurance
brokers
Assist with HR compliance and administrative support, such as leave of absence monitoring, coordinating trainings, ensure
forms / notices are sent / received timely, pulling MVR and other reoccurring reports, completing employment verifications
and garnishment paperwork, submitting documents and / or answering questions in compliance systems, maintain electronic
files, monitor HR email and fax.
- Monthly benefit invoice reconciliation
- Orders office, breakroom, and janitorial supplies
- Provides clerical support to the HR department
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files, records, and work-related matters
- Other duties may be assigned
