What You'll Do

Epic Games is seeking an experienced Lead Gameplay Designer to join our dynamic team, contributing across various aspects of game design for our collaboration with Disney.

In this role, you'll lead a team of designers in order to create compelling gameplay features and experiences for our players.

In this role, you will

• Lead the vision and outcome of gameplay features, balance game mechanics, craft engaging quests and scenarios, and ensure a compelling gameplay experience
• Lead, develop, and grow the design team, enabling designers to achieve their career goals and best outcomes while also increasing the capabilities of the team
• Roll up your sleeves and dive into some IC work when needed, and lead by example to set the quality bar for design
• Actively participate in big-picture decisions and ensure the design team focuses on the right elements to achieve superior results
• Utilize data-driven insights to inform design decisions, adjust live balance in real-time, and react quickly to changing project needs, driving to effective solutions
• Work closely with production to identify, prioritize, assign, and evaluate design work

What we're looking for

• Minimum 7+ years of experience shipping multiple titles as a gameplay designer, with expertise in various aspects of game design such as social gameplay features, balance tuning, quest content, and scenario design
• 2+ years of experience in a lead gameplay designer role, with demonstrated ability to manage or lead a team effectively
• Deep passion for multiplayer games with a wide breadth of game knowledge and understanding of player motivations
• Ability to react quickly to changing project needs and directions, along with strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset
• Experience with multiplayer cooperative games, systems design, analytics tools / languages / processes, and visual scripting is a plus
