DIRECTOR OF SUBCONTRACTS
Hanwha Qcells USA Corp (Qcells USA), headquartered in Irvine, CA, specializes in providing utility-scale modules, solar photovoltaic (PV), and battery energy storage systems (BESS) project development, along with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for solar and BESS projects nationwide.
SUMMARY
The Director of Subcontracts is responsible for managing and leading subcontracting efforts from RFP to contract execution, preparing highly customized downstream contracts involving the integration of diverse high-cost elements for PV, PV plus storage, and standalone storage projects.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Subcontracting and is expected to travel up to 25%.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regular attendance is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize contracting of construction and professional services.
- Manage the subcontracting team from bid to execution, including :
- Establish and execute strategic plans for competitive subcontracting capabilities.
- Manage RFPs for quotation and confirm bid evaluations.
- Negotiate and execute agreements with vendors and partners.
- Ensure prime contract flow downs are incorporated into subcontract documents.
- Track cost savings against the budget for each subcontract.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with contracts and project requirements.
- Support Project Management Team with contract information.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by Management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 7 - 12 years of experience in Construction Contracts Management and / or Procurement.
- 4 - 7 years of experience in the Solar industry.
- Project estimating experience highly preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literacy with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- SAP and Procore experience preferred.
- Customer service skills and maintaining good business relationships.
SALARY RANGE FOR POSITION
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $180,000 - $225,000 base salary per year.
