The Role You Play

A staff nurse at PMHS is typically working clinic hours of Monday to Friday, 8-5PM. Our nursing team assists our providers with psychiatric medication management and provide guidance to patients about those medications.

This position will be working with our substance use clients, specifically those in the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program.

• The Day-to-DayProvide onsite nursing support to medical staff according to scope of license and / or certificationInduce assigned patients with buprenorphine and manage the patient during that timeProvide substance use recovery information to clients including but not limited to lockboxes, Narcan training, and agency resourcesHandling medication phone calls or emails regarding general information, side effects, and other questions complaints and concernsOrdering and giving injections on a weekly basisTaking vitals for all in-office patient visits
• Other Duties As AssignedManage sample medications as sent by medical salespeopleAssist clients with applications for patient assistance in partner drug company programs

Who You Are

We are also for a nurse with strong customer service skills who is flexible you may float to cover other offices as needed and looking for a slower paced, outpatient environment As this position works primarily with substance use patients, an interest in that population is required, as well as a great deal of patience.

We are also looking for a nurse with prior experience with psychotropic medications, and preferably prior work with substance use clients.

• RequiredCurrent, unencumbered Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) certificationStrong oral and written communication skills using the English languageKnowledge of psychotropic medications and the specific needs of substance use patientsAt least 2 years' nursing experienceBasic personal computing skills
• PreferredBSN strongly preferredPrior experience with MAT / Medication Assisted TreatmentBi-lingual capabilitiesExperience with Microsoft Office software
