Executive Director
Position Summary :
The Lake Erie Foundation (LEF), a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2016 to sustain and protect the waters of Lake Erie, is seeking an individual with a strong passion for protecting this valuable natural resource to direct efforts to advance our organization’s strategic priorities and build our membership and endowment.
As executive director, you would serve as LEF's principal representative working across all geographic lines to foster relationships and promote collaboration with government representatives, elected officials, aligned environmental organizations, the public, foundations, donors and others related to our mission.
The ideal candidate will also take a leadership role in proactively identifying organizational needs, capacities and resources, as well as exploring new opportunities to increase and expand organizational reach, maintain fiduciary responsibility and actively pursue funding opportunities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Direct efforts to advance strategic priorities.
- Build membership and endowment.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders.
- Identify organizational needs and resources.
- Explore funding opportunities.
Location : Sandusky / Port Clinton / Lake Erie Islands. Primarily remote with interactions with board and staff team. Some travel as necessary to conduct organization business and attend meetings and community gatherings.
