Adult and Online Learning

Job Summary

Serve adult and online students in their transition to college via programs and services offered by Adult and Online Learning.

Recruit adult and fully online students to undergraduate and graduate programs. Transition prospective and enrolled students to the appropriate office and program for their needs, including through the credit for prior learning process.

Work with the Associate Director to build and implement new programs and events as appropriate based on student needs.

Responsibilities

  • Promote all programmatic and educational offerings by Adult and Online Learning and the Institute for Innovative and Integrated Studies to regional community members, campus partners, and potential students
  • Establish relationships with regional nonprofits and government entities for the purpose of garnering adult student interest in Georgia Southern
  • Recruit prospective adult learners and engage with enrolled nontraditional students through University events, including but not limited to, orientations, open houses, community events, and evening programs
  • Develop and manage new programs, events, and outreach initiatives that attract and engage both prospective and enrolled adult learners and fully online students
  • Promote and recruit students for the University's prior learning assessment program
  • Assist with implementation of the prior learning assessment (PLA) course by working one-on-one with students to identify potential PLA opportunities, navigating the student through the PLA process, course payment, course completion, portfolio submission, and approval
  • Collaborate, as directed, with university offices to facilitate the transition of adult learners to continuing education and professional certification programs
  • Manage office communications with prospective and enrolled adult learners and fully online students, including but not limited to social media initiatives and all incoming and outgoing communication via telephone, email, etc.
  • Assist with supervising office graduate assistance and other student employees

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in higher education
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience
  • Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience

Proposed Salary

$55,126 - $70,307

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
