Job summary
Manage all aspects of production in LMT facility. Lead and motivate the labor force to perform at a standard necessary to insure the production of quality parts in a timely manner.
Do everything possible to control the costs related to production and related items.
Summary of essential job functions
- Cycle efficiency
- Maintain cycle times according to IQMs. If cycle times cannot be met we will need a reason in writing notifying the Production Manager of cycle time deficiencies.
- Quality
- MonitorQC audits and ensure we make quality parts and listen to QC. They have the final say as to whether the parts are put into inventory or into QC hold for further evaluation.
- Make sure that all production is scanned and taken to the warehouse by the end of your shift.
- Comply with all processing procedures as instructed by the Production Manager.
- Processes to minimize scrap and maximize efficiencies.
- Labor
- Keep current with changes to the schedule.
- Inform the Production Manager of all labor requirements on a daily basis.
- Utilize all people in their positions to meet production demands.
- Supervise all your people making sure that they follow all procedures and work instructions.
- Record employee attendance and report transgressions to the necessary person.
- Do evaluations of the production personnel on your shift when asked.
- Molds, Change Overs or Repairs
- Monitor IQMs for changeovers and have inserts and molds at the press ready to go in with minimal downtime.
- Enter scrap and downtimes in IQMs everyday before your shift ends.
- Work with your people to complete mold changes; utilize your assistant supervisor and material handler for mold changes as needed.
Start up presses as soon as change is done.
- Clean the molds that are assigned to your shift by the Production Manager daily.
- Perform preventative maintenance as assigned (Polish, water leaks, tear down molds for cleaning, etc.)
- Inform the Production Manager of any problems or potential problems with molds.
- Store all molds in their designated locations and keep the Production updated to their status.
- Keep the Production Manager notified in written form of any needed components for mold changes (water fittings, bolts, hoses, etc.
prior to running out.
- Safety
- It is your responsibility to ensure that everyone on your shift is wearing the proper personal protective equipment like safety glasses and hearing protector if they are needed in their work area.
- Correct or notify upper management of any unsafe equipment or circumstances that exist in the facility.
6. Education and experience
- MinimumHigh school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years injection molding experience.
- Supervision experience preferred.
