In this role, you'll prepare and implement the business plan, work strategically to drive a new initiative for our business from the ground up, and implement systems and ideas that will lead to growth for our organization.

The Director of Food Packaging will be responsible for the continued growth of the packaging business within the food sector.

This role will collaborate with sales, marketing, equipment, design, purchasing, and facilities solutions teams to provide unique food packaging offerings to Morrisette customers.

The director will have familiarity with the unique needs of the food sector (shelf life, machinability, certifications, etc.

We're seeking individuals with significantly good food packaging industry experience who can lead and deliver project work streams for client engagements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify packaging needs within existing or potential food packaging customers.
  • Identify leads and work with Sales Managers to share them with the sales force.
  • Lead the Food Packaging team to service the rise in sales.
  • Organize training sessions as needed with sales, equipment, and purchasing teams.
  • Develop strategies to maximize the growth of the Food Packaging Program.
  • Work with existing suppliers and introduce new suppliers as needed for novel products and those that our customers need.
  • Monitor trends in the Food Packaging industry and implement new packaging options that fit within the Morrisette model.
  • Stay informed of sustainability-related needs and offerings.
  • Learn and utilize the leadership practices and terminology used at Morrisette, especially with the sales management team.

  • Some overnight travel required (customers, trade shows, training, etc.)

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in food packaging, food science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Deep industry experience developing strategies in food packaging and other miscellaneous products.
  • At least eight or more years of experience in a similar role.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Prior experience at a distribution company is a plus.
