General Position Description

A leading provider of supply chain solutions to the healthcare industry seeks experienced candidates for the position of Systems Administrator.

The ideal candidate will have a robust technical skill set, a positive attitude, the ability and willingness to work extended hours as necessary, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time.

This role involves managing all aspects of the PAR Excellence network, including network appliances, servers, PCs / laptops, and mobile devices.

Proven experience in network administration is crucial.

This position requires working from our headquarters location in Symmes Township, OH and occasional travel to our secure data center in downtown Cincinnati, OH.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Adherence to best practices for security in both on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments, including but not limited to firewalls, network switches, wireless devices, password complexity and expiration, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and periodic review of user accounts to insure only currently employee accounts are active.
• Proficient administration in Microsoft Azure, including security best-practices, creation and troubleshooting of VPNs, virtual machines, Entra ID / Active Directory Domain Services synchronization.

Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure Security Center, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure Monitor is a plus.

• Administration of Microsoft Windows server operating systems including technologies such as Active Directory Domain Services, Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, Terminal Services.
• Administration of enterprise data backups, including experience with traditional backup solutions like Veeam, as well as cloud backup technologies such as Microsoft Azure Backup and Site Recovery.
• Strong familiarity with networking in LAN, WAN and cloud environments. Familiarity with network protocols and services such as TCP / IP, UDP, ICMP, VPN, VLAN, etc., is essential.
• Performing updates / changes at times with least impact on users. Experience with change management processes is a plus.
• Support communication between on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments. Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures and connectivity is required.
• Routine maintenance of systems including firmware and software updates. Familiarity with patch management solutions is a plus.
• Installation and maintenance of required applications. Experience with software deployment tools like SCCM, Intune, or similar is a plus.
• Support PCs, laptops, and mobile devices and remote connectivity needs (e.g., VPN) for users. Experience with remote support tools and technologies is necessary.
• Analysis of current systems and proposal of solutions to the Information Technology Manager to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Ability to travel to our data center for server / device management.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Microsoft Certification.
• 2+ years’ experience.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field, or Associate degree and sufficient experience.
