The Environmental Manager will focus on sustainability and environmental / energy efforts including the education of staff, reporting on sustainability metrics, the development of sustainability resources, greening the firm's operations, and creating a case for sustainability for all of Didlake's clients.
The Environmental Manager will also support research initiatives related to sustainability, including measurements of indoor environmental quality factors.
In addition, the Environmental Manager will assist with sustainable projects that impact their assigned contract. Projects may vary from individual contract requirements to meet sustainability objectives, working with facilities on environmental and sustainable strategies, identification and reporting on collected data and trends, third-party certification documentation (CIMS-GB, LEED, etc.
and project performance analysis.
- Coordination of sustainability and environmental efforts regarding contract and organizational initiatives.
- Managing sustainable efforts as detailed in primarily custodial contracts as part of the CIMS-GB certification for the organization.
- Development of appropriate sustainable efforts regarding grounds, warehousing, scanning, and other lines of business as they become applicable and are assigned.
- Implementation, review, and updating of sustainability efforts through various organizational strategic and contractual requirements.
- Tracking, obtaining, and analysis of purchasing data related to chemicals and supplies for the various projects.
- Implementation of sustainability initiatives that may include assignment as lead or co-lead of the Sustainability Team, collection of sustainability documentation (agendas and training), preparation of data for quarterly reporting.
- Participation in assigned project teams related to facilities, purchasing, strategic planning, quality, contracting, and organizational certification efforts.
- Participation in the Environmental Management System (EMS) meetings implemented and developed by the customer.
- Participate in the Chemical Review Team, which monitors chemical purchases to ensure chemicals are environmentally preferred and are within certification requirements, review safety data sheets and employee training, and tracking of purchases that align with the established approved standard operating procedure.
- Ability to monitor and prepare organizational concerns related to regulatory standards related to federal, state, local, or applicable organizational relationships for notification and / or action to ensure that Didlake maintains its compliance obligations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to prepare and initiate information regarding changes updates to various lines of business as assigned and related to sustainability efforts.
- Analyzing and reporting on sustainable trends and information to ensure that Didlake maintains appropriate standards and operational procedures relevant to sustainability implementation and efforts.
- Collection and preparation of data related to sustainability purchasing to federal agencies, as it is required by individual contracts.
- Collaborate with project management regarding Sustainability meetings, training, and site support.
- Provides leadership to staff by fostering teamwork while balancing team and individual responsibilities; giving feedback to nurture a positive team spirit quality performance;
and modeling dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and professional personal appearance.
- Fosters an atmosphere that promotes Human Rights for all employees and ensures training, incident reporting, and awareness of responsibilities of all personnel regarding Human Rights matters.
- Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.

Requirements
Education :
- A preferred degree related to Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or a related industry.
- Two (2) years of work experience related to Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or a related industry.
- Certifications related to regulatory, auditing, LEED, CIMS-GB, or ISO preferred.
Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate credentials / background check (s) as required by contract (s).
- Valid, insurable driver's license required. The use of the personal vehicle will be required to access all areas of the contract.
- Must possess strong communication skills including the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, training manuals, standard operating procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, writing routine reports and correspondence, and presenting information to groups of employees.
- Basic computer skills that include Microsoft Office and Excel. Also, familiarity with web-based inventory, inspection, or work order (CMMS) systems.
- The ability to interact, train, and resolve the personnel issues of direct reports as well as interacting and training operational employees who may have disabilities.
