Nature of Work :
The Athletic Training intern will support Academy Athletic Trainer in providing day to day sports medicine operations to approximately 80 Colorado Rapids Academy players aged between 13 & 17 years of age.
In this capacity, the Academy Athletic Trainer Intern will support provision of injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for players’ medical problems.
Examples of work performed :
- Support Academy Athletic Trainer in providing preventive care for Academy players.
- Support Academy Athletic Trainer in evaluating injuries, providing treatment, and develop / implementing rehabilitation programs.
- Support Academy Athletic Trainer in maintaining accurate medical records of player injuries, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, professional, and welcoming training room.
- Assist in providing player hydration at training and games.
- Assist in managing sports medicine inventory and budgetary items.
- Prepare game sites for practice and competition.
- Prepare medical kits for team travel.
- Administer ImPACT concussion testing.

Qualifications :
MinimumBS / BA degree in athletic training or related field like sports medicineHigh School or GED2+ years’ experience in fieldApplicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of note : This position cannot work more than 29 hours per Colorado Interns are required to attend all KSE Internship Program hosted events that occur during business hours.
If unable to attend due to work, school or unforeseen circumstance, the Intern must inform the Internship Program Committee.
All Interns are required to participate in the KSE Mentorship Program by meeting with assigned Mentor in person or virtually.
PreferredAbility to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.

Compensation :
Base hourly rate $18.29 per hour
